The family of Mohammad Nazeer Paktiawal is demanding answers after his death in ICE custody in Dallas was ruled accidental, according to CBS Texas. Paktiawal was a 41-year-old Afghan father and former U.S. military ally. CBS reported that he died in March, less than 24 hours after being detained. A death certificate provided by his family states that he suffered an allergic reaction to an unidentified substance, which caused anaphylaxis and triggered his asthma. CBS reported that the death certificate also lists toxic effects of methamphetamine, heart disease, and cigarette smoking as contributing factors. A fire at a Mesquite apartment complex caused part of the roof to collapse Wednesday afternoon, according to NBC DFW. The fire happened at the Westover on 80 apartment complex in Mesquite.
