A mother was seriously injured and her unborn baby was killed after a major crash involving an 18-wheeler in Garland, according to CBS Texas. Police said the crash happened around 10:15 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 30 near President George Bush Turnpike. According to Garland police, a sedan and an 18-wheeler were both traveling westbound on I-30 when they collided. After the collision, the 18-wheeler struck the center concrete barrier. Police said the truck was carrying massive paper rolls estimated to weigh approximately 6,000 pounds each, and several of those rolls came off the truck and crossed into the eastbound lanes. An eastbound SUV then collided with the loose cargo. Four people were inside the SUV, including two children, ages 5 and 12. Police said the mother in the SUV lost her unborn baby and was hospitalized in serious condition. The two children were also reported to be in serious condition. This crash raises serious questions about 18-wheeler safety, cargo securement, speed, driver conduct, and how a collision turned into a devastating multi-direction highway hazard. When cargo comes off a commercial truck and enters active traffic lanes, innocent drivers and passengers may have no time to react. Heavy cargo, such as industrial paper rolls, can become a deadly object when it is not properly controlled, secured, or contained after impact. A Garland 18-wheeler crash like this should be investigated immediately. Key evidence may include the police crash report, witness statements, dash camera footage, traffic camera footage, truck inspection records, driver logs, cargo securement records, bill of lading documents, maintenance records, black box data, company safety policies, and any available video from nearby vehicles or businesses. Truck accident cases involving loose cargo are different from ordinary car accident claims. Responsibility may extend beyond the truck driver. Depending on the facts, a trucking company, cargo loader, shipper, broker, maintenance provider, trailer owner, or another company may share responsibility if unsafe loading, poor securement, improper inspection, or negligent operation contributed to the crash. For the injured mother and children, the consequences may be life-changing. Serious injuries can lead to emergency treatment, surgeries, long-term medical care, emotional trauma, lost wages, and permanent impairment. The loss of an unborn child adds another layer of grief and harm that should never be minimized. Major 18-Wheeler Crash Causes Backup on U.S. 67 at I-35E

A major collision involving an 18-wheeler caused a significant traffic backup on May 21, 2025, near the interchange of U.S. 67 and northbound I-35E. According to early reports, the crash involved a commercial truck and created heavy congestion as traffic slowed through the area. Officials had not immediately released details about injuries, the number of vehicles involved, or what caused the crash. Major truck crashes at highway interchanges can create serious hazards for drivers because of merging traffic, lane changes, limited reaction time, and the size and weight of commercial vehicles. Crashes involving 18-wheelers require a thorough investigation. A Texas truck accident lawyer can review whether driver fatigue, distraction, unsafe lane changes, following distance, speed, brake failure, tire failure, cargo issues, roadway design, or trucking company safety practices contributed to the collision. Truck accident evidence can disappear quickly. Black box data, driver logs, electronic logging records, inspection reports, maintenance records, dashcam footage, vehicle damage, roadway debris, crash scene photos, witness statements, police reports, and crash reconstruction evidence may all be critical to determining what happened and who may be responsible. If you or your loved one was injured in a Dallas 18-wheeler accident, U.S. 67 crash, I-35E truck collision, or Texas highway interchange wreck, you may have the right to seek justice and pursue compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, future care needs, property damage, and other damages. 18-Wheeler Overturns in Upshur County Crash on Highway 271

An 18-wheeler overturned in an Upshur County crash on Friday afternoon, June 5, 2026. According to KLTV, the wreck happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 271 and FM 726 and involved an 18-wheeler and another vehicle. The 18-wheeler landed on its side in a ditch beside the road, and one northbound lane of Highway 271 was blocked while first responders worked the scene. East Mountain, West Mountain, Gilmer, and DPS responded, and DPS was investigating the cause of the crash. 18-wheeler rollover crashes can be especially dangerous because of the size and weight of the truck, the risk of cargo shifts, and the possibility of secondary crashes while lanes are blocked. Investigators may need to determine whether speed, braking, driver fatigue, distraction, roadway conditions, turning movements, load balance, truck maintenance, tire failure, or company safety practices contributed to the wreck. If you were injured in an Upshur County 18-wheeler crash, Highway 271 collision, FM 726 wreck, or serious commercial truck accident, you may have the right to seek justice and pursue compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, mental anguish, impairment, and other damages. Garland Man Killed in Allen 18-Wheeler Crash on U.S. 75

A deadly crash in Allen claimed the life of a Garland man after a passenger vehicle struck the back of an 18-wheeler on U.S. 75. According to Allen police, the crash happened around 6:55 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025, on southbound U.S. 75 near Bethany Drive. Investigators said a white Chevrolet Malibu left its lane and crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the right shoulder with its hazard lights activated. The driver of the Malibu, identified as 52-year-old Rodolfo Rodriguez Sr. of Garland, was found unresponsive and trapped inside the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Malibu suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The 18-wheeler driver was not injured and cooperated with investigators. Fatal crashes involving 18-wheelers require a thorough investigation, even when early reports say a passenger vehicle struck the back of a stopped tractor-trailer. A Texas wrongful death lawyer can review whether the truck was legally stopped, whether hazard lights and reflective markings were visible, whether the shoulder placement created a roadway hazard, and whether lighting, visibility, vehicle defects, distraction, or another preventable factor contributed to the crash. Truck accident evidence can disappear quickly. Black box data, dashcam footage, vehicle damage, tractor-trailer lighting records, inspection reports, maintenance records, roadway measurements, crash scene photos, witness statements, police reports, and crash reconstruction evidence may all be critical to determining what happened and who may be responsible. If your loved one was killed in an Allen 18-wheeler accident, U.S. 75 truck crash, Collin County fatal collision, or Texas wrongful death case involving a commercial vehicle, your family may have the right to seek justice and pursue compensation for funeral expenses, lost financial support, mental anguish, loss of companionship, and other damages.
