A deadly house fire in Fort Worth claimed the life of one adult Friday night. According to WFAA, the Fort Worth Fire Department received the call around 8:06 p.m. and arrived within three minutes at a one-story home on Wilbarger Street. Firefighters found heavy fire coming from the front of the home and learned someone was still inside. Crews removed the person from the home and immediately began medical care, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The person’s identity had not been released, and fire officials said the cause of the fire remains under investigation. WFAA reported that the fire was under control by 8:22 p.m. Fatal house fires require a thorough investigation. A Texas wrongful death lawyer can review whether electrical issues, defective appliances, unsafe wiring, missing or non-working smoke detectors, landlord negligence, code violations, blocked exits, or another preventable hazard contributed to the death. Fire evidence can disappear quickly. Fire investigation findings, smoke detector records, electrical inspections, appliance records, property maintenance records, photos, witness statements, 911 calls, medical examiner findings, and insurance records may all be critical to determining what happened and who may be responsible. If your loved one was killed in a Fort Worth house fire, Wilbarger Street fire, Tarrant County fatal fire, or Texas wrongful death case involving unsafe property conditions, your family may have the right to seek justice and pursue compensation for funeral expenses, lost financial support, mental anguish, loss of companionship, and other damages.
