Motorcyclist Killed After Colliding with 18-Wheeler in Arlington
A 47-year-old motorcyclist was killed following a collision with an 18-wheeler in Arlington, Texas, on the night of July 25, 2026. According to the Arlington Police Department, officers responded to the 3900 block of Avenue E East at approximately 9:13 p.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a commercial truck. Preliminary investigators determined the driver of the 18-wheeler was attempting to turn left out of a store parking lot onto Avenue E East as the motorcycle was traveling eastbound and approaching a curve in the roadway. The motorcycle struck the side of the trailer, throwing both the rider and a female passenger from the bike. The 47-year-old man operating the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. Police stated he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The female passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and declined transportation to a hospital. The driver of the 18-wheeler remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. At this time, no criminal charges have been filed, and the crash remains under investigation. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after notification of next of kin. Fatal collisions involving commercial trucks require an immediate and thorough investigation. Even when criminal charges are not filed, there may still be important civil liability issues involving right-of-way, visibility, roadway design, truck operation, or other contributing factors. Critical evidence should be preserved as quickly as possible, including the police crash report, electronic logging device (ELD) data, engine control module (ECM) information, dash-camera and onboard video, driver qualification and training records, maintenance and inspection records, dispatch communications, witness statements, surveillance footage, and accident reconstruction evidence. 18-Wheeler Left Dangling Over Edge of I-10 at Grand Parkway After Three-Vehicle Crash
An 18-wheeler was left dangling over the edge of an elevated section of eastbound Interstate 10 (Katy Freeway) at State Highway 99 (Grand Parkway) near Katy after a three-vehicle crash on the morning of July 23, 2026. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the crash involved three vehicles. The impact caused the tractor-trailer to partially leave the elevated freeway, leaving the cab suspended over the edge of the overpass. First responders rushed to the scene to stabilize the truck, assist those involved, and begin removing the damaged vehicles. Multiple eastbound lanes—including two center lanes, the right lane, and the right shoulder—were closed, causing significant traffic delays. Authorities have not yet released additional information regarding injuries or the cause of the crash. Crashes involving elevated freeway interchanges and 18-wheelers can be especially dangerous because of the risk of rollovers, falling cargo, bridge strikes, and secondary collisions below. A thorough investigation should preserve critical evidence, including electronic logging device (ELD) data, engine control module information, driver qualification files, maintenance and inspection records, cargo securement records, dispatch communications, dash camera footage, witness statements, and crash reconstruction evidence.
