A 68-year-old Waco woman was killed Tuesday after her SUV and a tractor-trailer collided on State Highway 6 at West Lake Creek Road in McLennan County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS identified the woman as Zoe Henson, 68, of Waco. Troopers were called to the crash scene east of Waco at about 11:30 a.m. on August 18, 2026.
According to the preliminary investigation, a commercial truck was traveling south on SH 6 when Henson’s Chevrolet Equinox entered the intersection from West Lake Creek Road. The collision caused the Equinox to overturn. Henson died at the scene, and DPS reported no other injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
Intersection Evidence Will Be Important
Because this collision happened where a local road meets a state highway, investigators may need to determine precisely how each vehicle approached the intersection and when each driver first had an opportunity to see the other.
Potentially important evidence could include:
Traffic or nearby surveillance video
Dashcam footage
Vehicle event data
Witness statements
Sight-distance measurements
Roadway signs and markings
Speed and braking information
Physical damage to both vehicles
Commercial-truck GPS or telematics records
The preliminary DPS account describes the crash sequence, but it does not by itself establish final legal responsibility.
Why the Semi-Truck Evidence Should Be Preserved
When a tractor-trailer is involved in a fatal wreck, additional evidence may exist that would not normally be available in an ordinary two-car collision.
Depending on the truck and motor carrier, investigators may need to examine onboard video, electronic control module data, driver logs, dispatch records, inspection reports, maintenance history, and GPS information.
The Wooley Law Firm’s 18-wheeler accident practice addresses the importance of preserving commercial-vehicle records after serious Texas truck crashes.
The firm has also covered a separate fatal I-35 truck crash involving a Waco driver, illustrating why commercial-truck data and roadway evidence can become important in fatal McLennan County collisions.
Questions About Right of Way Should Wait for the Evidence
The fact that the Equinox entered SH 6 from West Lake Creek Road will likely be central to the investigation.
However, a full reconstruction may still examine the speed of the tractor-trailer, visibility at the intersection, the timing of each vehicle’s movement, whether either driver attempted to brake or evade, and whether roadway or mechanical conditions played any role.
Those issues should be resolved through evidence rather than assumptions based only on the initial crash description.
Wrongful Death After a McLennan County Truck Crash
The sudden death of Zoe Henson is a devastating loss for her family.
If the investigation ultimately establishes that another person or company’s negligence caused or contributed to the collision, qualifying family members may have potential rights under Texas wrongful-death law.
The Wooley Law Firm represents families in Texas wrongful death cases and serious commercial-truck collisions throughout Texas.
If you lost a loved one in a Waco 18-wheeler accident, SH 6 crash, McLennan County truck wreck, West Lake Creek Road collision, or other fatal Texas highway accident, you may have the right to seek justice and pursue compensation if the evidence establishes legal responsibility.

18-Wheeler Wreck on I-30 at Dalrock Road in Rowlett
A major wreck involving an 18-wheeler was reported on westbound I-30 at Dalrock Road in Rowlett at approximately 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. According to the traffic information provided, the crash closed the two left westbound lanes and the left shoulder. Early information did not confirm whether anyone was injured, how many other vehicles were involved, or what caused the collision. Drivers approaching Dalrock Road should expect congestion and watch for sudden braking, emergency vehicles, and traffic merging away from the left side of I-30. Those records do not establish that the truck driver or trucking company caused the wreck. Responsibility should be determined only after the available evidence is reviewed. Early information did not confirm how many people were injured, the severity of any injuries, which lanes were affected, or what caused the collision. Why Trucking Evidence Should Be Preserved Quickly Some of the most important evidence after a commercial-truck crash may be controlled by the trucking company rather than law enforcement. Electronic records, onboard video, vehicle data, inspection documents, and dispatch information can help determine how the truck was being operated before impact and whether a driver, vehicle condition, or another factor contributed to the wreck. The firm has also covered other serious I-30 crashes in Fort Worth, although each collision must be investigated based on its own facts. Injured in an I-30 Truck Crash in Fort Worth?
