A well-known North Texas DJ was killed in a crash in Mesquite early Saturday morning, June 6, 2026.
According to WFAA, Mesquite police confirmed that Erick Del Campo, who went by DJ Avenger, died in the crash. He was 44 years old and was remembered by fellow North Texas DJs as a genuine friend. The crash remained under investigation.
Fatal crashes leave families and communities searching for answers, especially when the person killed was widely known and loved. Investigators may need to determine whether speed, distraction, impairment, unsafe lane changes, following distance, roadway conditions, vehicle defects, or another driver’s actions contributed to the wreck. Evidence such as crash scene measurements, dashcam footage, surveillance video, witness statements, 911 calls, vehicle damage, toxicology findings, and event data recorder information may be critical in determining what happened.
If you lost a loved one in a Mesquite car accident, North Texas roadway crash, Dallas County collision, or fatal vehicle wreck, you may have the right to seek justice and pursue compensation for funeral expenses, loss of companionship, mental anguish, lost financial support, and other damages.
