One person died and at least three others were injured, including two firefighters, after an early morning house fire in Fort Worth on Thursday. Fort Worth firefighters responded around 2:45 a.m. to a home on Avenue J near Little Street, southeast of downtown. Heavy flames were reportedly coming from the front of the house when crews arrived. Firefighters removed two people from the home. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported by helicopter to a hospital. At least two firefighters were also injured while battling the fire. Fort Worth Fire Department officials said items stacked near doors and windows created barriers that made the rescue and firefighting efforts more difficult. The names of the victims and injured firefighters have not been released. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. A fatal house fire should be investigated carefully. Key evidence may include fire department reports, electrical and appliance inspections, smoke alarm records, property maintenance records, witness statements, surveillance footage, photographs, and evidence collected from the scene. Wooley Law Firm handles serious burn injury, premises liability, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death cases across Fort Worth, Dallas-Fort Worth, and throughout Texas. Fort Worth Man Arrested in Intoxicated Driving Death of Father of Four

A Fort Worth man was arrested after police say he drove intoxicated and killed another man, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Police arrested 47-year-old Mack Simpson on a charge of intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle. The victim, 37-year-old Jose Alfredo Aguilar Candela, died near Travis and West Baltimore avenues on the evening of July 1, 2026. According to the Star-Telegram, Candela was a loving husband, father of four, and primary provider for his family. This is a heartbreaking loss for Candela’s wife, children, and loved ones. When a person is killed by an alleged drunk driver, the family deserves answers, accountability, and a full investigation into every fact surrounding the crash. Fatal intoxicated driving cases may involve both criminal charges and civil claims. The criminal case can punish the accused driver, but it does not fully address the financial and emotional harm suffered by the victim’s family. A wrongful death claim may help surviving family members pursue compensation for funeral expenses, lost income, mental anguish, loss of companionship, and other damages. A Fort Worth intoxication manslaughter crash should be investigated quickly and aggressively. Key evidence may include the crash report, toxicology results, body camera footage, dash camera footage, 911 calls, witness statements, surveillance video, vehicle damage, cell phone records, bar or restaurant receipts, alcohol purchase records, and crash reconstruction findings. Depending on the facts, investigators may also need to determine where the driver was drinking before the crash and whether a bar, restaurant, or other alcohol provider overserved an obviously intoxicated person. In Texas, dram shop claims may apply in certain drunk driving cases. Wooley Law Firm handles serious drunk driving crash, intoxication manslaughter, pedestrian injury, car accident, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death cases across Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Dallas-Fort Worth, and throughout Texas. We move quickly to preserve evidence, identify responsible parties, and fight for families seeking justice. If your loved one was killed in a Fort Worth drunk driving crash, intoxication manslaughter case, Tarrant County collision, pedestrian accident, or fatal Texas roadway crash, you may have the right to seek justice and pursue compensation for funeral expenses, lost income, mental anguish, loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and other damages. Midland Teen Killed, Four Critically Injured in Overnight Incident

A Midland teen was killed and four other people were critically injured in an overnight incident reported on June 1, 2026. According to KWTX, authorities were investigating after the incident left one person dead and four others with critical injuries. Early reports indicated that a Midland man was later facing a murder charge after reportedly confessing involvement in the incident. Incidents involving a death and multiple critical injuries can raise serious legal questions for victims and families. Investigators may need to determine exactly what happened, who was involved, whether criminal conduct contributed to the injuries, and whether any property owner, business, security provider, vehicle owner, or other third party may have played a role. Evidence such as police reports, witness statements, surveillance video, 911 calls, phone records, scene photographs, medical records, and criminal investigation findings may be critical in determining responsibility. If you were injured in a Midland critical incident, violent injury event, or catastrophic injury case, you may have the right to seek justice and pursue compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, mental anguish, impairment, and other damages. If you lost a loved one, your family may also have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim for funeral expenses, loss of companionship, mental anguish, lost financial support, and other damages. Two Killed, One Critically Injured in Killeen Head-On Crash

Two people were killed and one person was critically injured in a head-on collision in Killeen on Monday morning, June 1, 2026. According to KWTX, the crash happened around 7:40 a.m. in the 700 block of East Stan Schlueter Loop, between Trimmier Road and Velma Drive. Investigators said a 2024 gray Toyota SUV traveling westbound drifted into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a 2016 gray Kia SUV. The 41-year-old Toyota driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kia’s driver and passenger were taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, where the 73-year-old passenger later died. The 77-year-old Kia driver remained in critical condition. Killeen police said investigators were looking into whether impairment played a role, and an autopsy was ordered for the Toyota driver. Head-on crashes are often catastrophic because both vehicles may absorb the force of impact at roadway speed. Investigators may need to determine why the Toyota crossed into oncoming traffic, whether impairment, distraction, fatigue, speed, medical issues, vehicle defects, roadway design, or another factor contributed to the collision. Evidence such as crash scene measurements, witness statements, vehicle inspections, event data recorder information, toxicology findings, surveillance video, dashcam footage, and police reconstruction findings may be critical in understanding what happened. If you were injured in a Killeen car accident, East Stan Schlueter Loop crash, or serious head-on collision, you may have the right to seek justice and pursue compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, mental anguish, impairment, and other damages. If you lost a loved one, your family may also have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim for funeral expenses, loss of companionship, mental anguish, lost financial support, and other damages.
