A Krum ISD student was killed and two other people were injured in a fatal crash in Denton County that has left the school community mourning.

According to authorities, emergency crews responded to the collision and found multiple people injured. One student died from injuries sustained in the crash, while two other individuals were transported to area hospitals for treatment. The Krum Independent School District confirmed the student's death and offered condolences to the family, friends, classmates, and teachers affected by the tragedy. The district also announced that counseling and support services would be available for students and staff.

Officials have not released the identity of the student or disclosed the full circumstances that led to the collision. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Fatal crashes involving young drivers and students are especially heartbreaking for families and entire communities. A thorough investigation is often necessary to determine whether factors such as excessive speed, distracted driving, impairment, roadway conditions, vehicle defects, or another driver's negligence contributed to the collision. Critical evidence may include the Texas Peace Officer's Crash Report (CR-3), witness statements, dash-camera footage, surveillance video, vehicle event data recorder (EDR) information, cell phone records when appropriate, photographs of the scene, roadway evidence, and accident reconstruction analysis.

Everyone at Wooley Law Firm extends our heartfelt condolences to the student's family, friends, classmates, teachers, and the entire Krum ISD community during this incredibly difficult time. Our firm represents victims and families in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases throughout Denton County and across Texas. We move quickly to preserve critical evidence, conduct an independent investigation, identify every potentially responsible party, and pursue the full compensation available under Texas law.

Major Spur 366 Crash at Field Street in Dallas Closes Left Lane

A major collision was reported on westbound Spur 366/Woodall Rodgers Freeway at Field Street in downtown Dallas early Wednesday morning, September 30, 2026. According to the traffic alert, the crash was verified at approximately 6:35 a.m. The lane-status diagram shows the left travel lane and left shoulder closed, while the remaining westbound lanes stayed open. Early information did not identify the vehicles involved, confirm whether anyone was injured, or explain what caused the collision. The “major” designation is a traffic classification and does not by itself establish the severity of anyone’s injuries. Left Lane Closed on Westbound Woodall Rodgers Freeway The crash affected westbound Spur 366, commonly known as Woodall Rodgers Freeway, near Field Street in downtown Dallas. This section of roadway connects the US 75/I-345 corridor with I-35E and carries significant commuter traffic through downtown and Uptown Dallas. With the left lane and shoulder blocked during the Wednesday morning commute, approaching drivers could encounter congestion, sudden braking, emergency vehicles, and traffic merging into the remaining open lanes. Because information remains preliminary, it would be premature to determine whether speed, distraction, following distance, an unsafe lane change, or another factor contributed to the wreck. What Evidence May Matter After a Downtown Dallas Freeway Crash? If someone was seriously injured, potentially important evidence may include: TxDOT traffic-camera footage; dashcam recordings; nearby building or parking-garage surveillance video; Dallas Police crash reports; witness statements; photographs and video from the scene; vehicle event-data recorder information; roadway debris and tire marks; and vehicle damage and final resting positions. A crash near downtown Dallas may have more potential video sources than a wreck on a remote roadway. Traffic cameras, nearby businesses, office buildings, parking facilities, and passing vehicles may all have recorded part of the collision. Why Lane Position Can Matter on Spur 366 Woodall Rodgers Freeway includes closely spaced ramps and connections serving downtown Dallas, Uptown, US 75, and I-35E. Investigators may need to determine whether any vehicle was changing lanes, entering or exiting the freeway, or reacting to slowing traffic immediately before the collision. The fact that the left lane was closed after the wreck does not establish where the crash began or which driver, if any, was responsible. Other Recent Crashes Near Woodall Rodgers Freeway The Wooley Law Firm recently reported a separate major I-35E crash at Woodall Rodgers Freeway on September 16. The firm also reported a three-vehicle crash on US 75 at the westbound Woodall Rodgers ramp earlier in September. Those were separate incidents and are not known to be related to Wednesday morning’s Field Street collision. Injured in a Downtown Dallas Car Wreck? The Wooley Law Firm represents people injured in serious car and truck crashes throughout Dallas and North Texas. Disclaimer This article is based on preliminary traffic information concerning a September 30, 2026 collision on westbound Spur 366 at Field Street in Dallas. Additional or different facts may become available. The “major” traffic classification does not establish the severity of anyone’s injuries. Major I-635 Crash at US 80 in Mesquite Closes Two Right Lanes

A major collision was reported on southbound I-635 at US 80 in Mesquite during the Tuesday morning commute on September 29, 2026. According to the traffic information provided, the wreck was reported at approximately 8:30 a.m. The two right southbound travel lanes and right shoulder were closed while emergency crews responded. Early information did not identify the vehicles involved, confirm whether anyone was injured, or explain what caused the collision. The “major” designation is a traffic classification and does not by itself establish the severity of anyone’s injuries. Two Right Lanes Closed on Southbound I-635 The crash affected southbound I-635/LBJ Freeway near the US 80 interchange in Mesquite. With two right lanes and the shoulder blocked during the morning commute, drivers approaching the scene could encounter significant congestion, emergency vehicles, sudden braking, and traffic merging into the remaining open lanes. Because the available information is preliminary, it would be premature to determine whether speed, distraction, following distance, an unsafe lane change, or another factor contributed to the wreck. Several Recent Crashes Have Occurred Near I-635 and US 80 The September 29 collision is separate from several other recent crashes reported around this busy Mesquite interchange. On September 25, two different crashes were reported within about 30 minutes of each other at US 80 and I-635, including one on westbound US 80 at the ramp to southbound I-635 and another on northbound I-635 at the westbound US 80 ramp. The Wooley Law Firm also previously reported a separate southbound I-635 crash at US 80 in Mesquite on September 2. Those crashes occurred on different dates and are not known to be related to Tuesday morning’s collision. What Evidence May Matter After an I-635 Crash? If someone was seriously injured, investigators may need to examine evidence beyond the initial crash report. Potentially important evidence may include: TxDOT traffic-camera footage; dashcam recordings; nearby business or roadway surveillance video; police crash reports; witness statements; photographs and video from the scene; vehicle event-data recorder information; roadway debris and tire marks; and vehicle damage and final resting positions. Video may be particularly useful near the US 80 interchange because it can help establish whether a vehicle was changing lanes, entering or exiting the freeway, braking for congestion, or reacting to another vehicle immediately before impact. Why Lane Position Can Matter Near an Interchange Crashes near major freeway interchanges can involve vehicles traveling straight through, merging onto the freeway, or preparing to exit. Investigators may need to determine which lane each vehicle occupied before the collision and whether traffic conditions affected the drivers’ movements. The fact that the two right lanes were closed does not establish where the collision began or which driver, if any, was responsible. Injured in an I-635 Crash in Mesquite? The Wooley Law Firm represents people injured in serious car and truck crashes throughout Mesquite, Dallas County, and North Texas. If you were injured in an I-635 collision, an investigation may include obtaining traffic-camera footage, dashcam video, electronic vehicle data, witness statements, police records, and available insurance information. Disclaimer This article is based on preliminary traffic information concerning a September 29, 2026 collision on southbound I-635 at US 80 in Mesquite. Additional or different facts may become available. The “major” traffic classification does not establish the severity of anyone’s injuries. I-30 Crash at Carroll Avenue in Dallas Closes Two Left Lanes - Car Accidents

I-30 Crash at Carroll Avenue in Dallas Closes Two Left Lanes

A collision was reported on westbound I-30 at Carroll Avenue in Dallas during the Tuesday morning commute on September 29, 2026. According to the traffic information provided, the wreck was reported at approximately 9:00 a.m. The two left westbound travel lanes were closed while emergency crews responded. Early information did not identify the vehicles involved, confirm whether anyone was injured, or explain what caused the collision. Two Left Lanes Closed on Westbound I-30 The crash affected westbound traffic on I-30 near Carroll Avenue, just east of downtown Dallas. With two left lanes blocked during the morning commute, drivers approaching the scene could encounter congestion, sudden braking, emergency vehicles, and traffic merging into the remaining open lanes. Because information remains preliminary, it would be premature to determine whether speed, distraction, following distance, an unsafe lane change, or another factor contributed to the wreck. Another Recent Crash at I-30 and Carroll Avenue The September 29 collision is separate from another crash reported at the same interchange earlier this month. On September 17, a major collision on eastbound I-30 at Carroll Avenue closed all eastbound lanes during the morning commute. That incident occurred in the opposite direction and is not known to be related to Tuesday's westbound wreck. The Wooley Law Firm has also recently reported on other I-30 crashes in Dallas, including a westbound I-30 crash at Ferguson Road and a major westbound I-30 crash at Loop 12. What Evidence May Matter After an I-30 Crash? If someone was seriously injured, potentially important evidence may include: TxDOT traffic-camera footage; dashcam recordings; nearby surveillance video; police crash reports; witness statements; photographs and videos from the scene; vehicle event-data recorder information; roadway debris and tire marks; and vehicle damage and final resting positions. Video evidence can be particularly useful on a freeway because it may show lane changes, braking, traffic conditions, and the movements of vehicles immediately before impact. Why Lane Position Can Matter When a wreck closes multiple lanes, investigators may need to determine where each vehicle was traveling before the collision and whether any driver was changing lanes or reacting to slowing traffic. Damage patterns, electronic vehicle data, witness accounts, and available video may help reconstruct the sequence. The fact that two lanes were closed does not establish how many vehicles were involved or who caused the crash. Injured in an I-30 Crash in Dallas?
