A collision was reported on westbound I-635 at Miller Road in Dallas at approximately 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
According to the traffic information provided, the crash closed the left travel lane and left shoulder during the morning commute. Early information did not confirm how many vehicles were involved, whether anyone was injured, or what caused the wreck.
Drivers traveling westbound on LBJ Freeway near Miller Road should watch for slowing traffic, emergency vehicles, and motorists merging away from the left side of the highway.
I-635 Crash Near Miller Road
The Wooley Law Firm has previously covered a separate I-635 collision at Miller Road involving eastbound traffic. That earlier crash had different circumstances, but it is a strong location-specific internal link for this new westbound collision.
Lane and shoulder closures on I-635 can create additional risks as traffic suddenly slows or motorists merge around the crash scene. Because the circumstances of Wednesday morning's wreck have not been established, it would be premature to attribute the collision to speeding, distraction, following too closely, or another specific cause.
Evidence That May Matter After a Dallas Highway Crash
If injuries are later confirmed, potentially useful evidence may include dashcam recordings, traffic or surveillance video, witness statements, crash-scene photographs, vehicle event data, and police or EMS records.

Major I-20 Wreck in Talty Shuts Down Westbound Lanes
A major crash was reported on westbound I-20 at FM 1641 in Talty, Texas, at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. According to the traffic information provided, all westbound lanes were closed as emergency crews responded to the scene. Early information did not confirm how many vehicles were involved, whether anyone was injured, or what caused the collision. Drivers traveling through Talty and western Kaufman County should expect significant delays and seek an alternate route until the interstate reopens. All-Lane Closure Suggests a Significant Emergency Response When every lane of an interstate is shut down, traffic can back up rapidly and create additional hazards well beyond the original crash scene. Motorists approaching the closure may encounter stopped traffic, sudden lane changes, emergency vehicles, and drivers attempting to exit the freeway or divert onto nearby roads. The cause of Wednesday morning’s collision has not been established, so it would be premature to attribute the wreck to speeding, distraction, an unsafe lane change, or any other particular factor. The Wooley Law Firm recently reported on a separate major crash near FM 1641 in Talty on August 15. That unrelated wreck occurred near FM 1641 and FM 148 and prompted a significant emergency response. I-20 Crashes in Kaufman County Can Require Extensive Investigation If serious injuries are confirmed, potentially important evidence may include traffic-camera footage, dashcams, nearby surveillance video, witness statements, vehicle event data, crash-scene photographs, and police or EMS records. Kaufman County has also experienced several serious multi-vehicle collisions on I-20. In June 2026, a separate westbound I-20 pileup involved numerous passenger vehicles and commercial trucks and sent multiple people to hospitals. Each crash must be evaluated based on its own evidence, and the severity of a traffic closure alone does not establish how badly anyone was hurt. Injured in an I-20 Crash in Talty? If you were injured in a Talty car accident, I-20 crash, FM 1641 wreck, Kaufman County collision, or multiple-vehicle accident, you may have the right to seek justice and pursue compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, mental anguish, impairment, vehicle damage, and other losses if the evidence establishes legal responsibility. I-20 Crash Near Bonnie View Road The Wooley Law Firm has previously covered another major I-20 crash near Bonnie View Road. A two-lane closure during morning traffic can also create secondary hazards as motorists brake suddenly or attempt to merge around the crash scene. Tragic Head-On Crash in Fort Worth Claims Three Lives
Three people were killed and two others were hospitalized after a wrong-way SUV struck multiple vehicles on State Highway 121/Airport Freeway near North Riverside Drive in Fort Worth early Tuesday morning. The series of collisions began at approximately 1:20 a.m. on August 18, 2026. Fort Worth police said an SUV was headed east while using the westbound side of SH 121. Before the fatal collision occurred, the SUV encountered another vehicle carrying three people. That motorist attempted to avoid the approaching SUV, but the vehicles still made contact along the driver's side of the other vehicle. Police did not report major injuries from that first impact. The SUV continued against westbound traffic and later met a sedan carrying four people head-on. Two women riding in the sedan died at the crash scene, as did the driver of the wrong-way SUV. The sedan's male driver and a child passenger approximately 10 or 11 years old were transported for medical treatment and were expected to survive based on the initial police update. Fort Worth police continue to investigate the deadly collision. Current local reporting confirms that three people died and two others were hurt in the SH 121 wrong-way crash. Investigators Need to Determine How the Wrong-Way Driving Began The final head-on impact is only part of the investigation. An important question is how and where the SUV entered Airport Freeway in the wrong direction. Investigators may be able to reconstruct its route through highway cameras, nearby surveillance systems, dashcams, witness accounts, 911 calls, and electronic data stored by the vehicles. The occupants of the first vehicle struck could be especially important witnesses because they apparently encountered the SUV before the fatal collision. Investigators may also examine whether impairment, fatigue, distraction, confusion at an entrance or exit ramp, or another circumstance contributed. Those possibilities remain investigative questions unless police later confirm them. Electronic Evidence Could Show What Happened Before Impact Modern vehicles may contain event data capable of showing information such as speed, braking, throttle position, and other activity immediately before a crash. Potential evidence in this case may include: Event data from the SUV and sedan Dashcam recordings Traffic-camera video Nearby commercial surveillance 911 calls reporting a wrong-way vehicle Witness statements Crash-scene measurements Vehicle damage patterns Toxicology evidence Cell-phone records when legally appropriate Preserving that evidence quickly can help establish not only the collision itself but also the SUV's movements leading up to it. Passengers Killed in the Sedan May Have Wrongful-Death Claims Based on the preliminary police account, the two women who died were passengers in a sedan traveling with westbound traffic when the wrong-way SUV approached. If the investigation establishes that another driver's negligence caused their deaths, certain surviving family members may have rights under Texas wrongful-death law. The Wooley Law Firm represents families in Texas wrongful death cases, including claims arising from catastrophic automobile crashes. The fact that the reported wrong-way driver also died does not necessarily prevent a civil claim. Available automobile liability insurance and, when appropriate, claims involving the driver's estate may still need to be evaluated. Insurance Coverage Could Be an Important Issue A crash involving multiple deaths and serious injuries can create difficult insurance questions, particularly when several people may seek compensation from the same policy. The surviving sedan driver and child may potentially have injury claims in addition to the wrongful-death claims associated with the two deceased passengers. If available liability coverage is insufficient, the sedan's uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage may also need to be investigated. The Wooley Law Firm provides additional information about uninsured and underinsured motorist claims. Another Deadly Wrong-Way Crash on SH 121 in Fort Worth Tuesday's tragedy follows another fatal wrong-way collision on the same Fort Worth highway earlier this year. The Wooley Law Firm previously reported on a separate fatal wrong-way crash on SH 121 in Fort Worth. That May collision occurred near Sylvania Avenue and involved different people and circumstances. The repeat location makes SH 121 particularly relevant for readers searching for information about Fort Worth wrong-way crashes and Airport Freeway accidents, while each incident should remain on its own page because the facts are distinct. Fort Worth Wrong-Way Crash and Wrongful Death Attorney This collision left three people dead, an adult and child hospitalized, and another occupied vehicle damaged while its driver attempted to avoid the oncoming SUV. A complete investigation should determine where the wrong-way travel began, how long the SUV traveled against traffic, whether motorists reported it before the fatal collision, and what vehicle data and video reveal about the events leading to impact. If you lost a loved one or were injured in a Fort Worth wrong-way crash, Airport Freeway accident, SH 121 collision, North Riverside Drive wreck, or fatal head-on crash, you may have the right to seek justice and pursue compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, mental anguish, impairment, wrongful-death damages, and other losses if the evidence establishes legal responsibility.
